Thank you for your interest in us reviewing your book! Be sure to read this page in its entirety before you contact BFCG for a review. Please make sure your book meets our criteria:
  •    It is classified as a Christian book and is on Goodreads by the release date.
  •    There are not any sex scenes or near scenes (fade-to-black scenes).
  •    There are not any major curse words. (Please be honest if they are written out or dashes are used, because that will greatly affect the ratings the book receives.)
  •     It is at least 130 pages long for middle-grade fiction.
  •   It is over 175 pages long for any other genre.
  •   It is not longer than 420 pages.
  •     It does not deal with spiritual warfare.
  •     It is not Biblical fiction.
  •   If you book is set in the Point of View of a teen-aged boy, there has to be a female side character. In your email, please let us know if there will be any romance.
  •   Your book is on Goodreads.
Other notes:
  •    We do not accept inquiries for Non-Fiction that is NOT for girls ages 9-19.
  •     Fantasy will be on a case-by-case basis.
  •     Independently published books will be taken on a low case-by-case basis. Only if the genre is under YA and/or we have worked with the author previously will we seriously consider reviewing the book.

Please note, if your book is written for adults or young adults, your book will most definitely get a one-star rating in at least one of the five ratings, because this blog is for girls ages 9-19! It makes sense that a book written for high schoolers is marked as a low rating for girls who are nine, right? That’s what might happen. 😉

Please remember, our goal is never to make an author cry, sad or mad! We simply compare the written words to the values in Philippians 4:8. Contacting this blog for a review means that you, as the author, are aware that we will give an honest review of your book. You might not agree with or like everything we say, but we promise to give an honest review.

As of June 2023, the turn-a-round time (from the time it’s in our hands from the day the review is posted) is:
  • PAPERBACKS: 3-4 months
  • E-BOOKS: 4-5 months

If you feel like your book could pass these guidelines and you’re in no super hurry for a review, feel free to e-mail us at  booksforchristiangirls (at) yahoo (dot) com   .

{{ Please note: We reserve the right to make any changes in the acceptance of review books. We may decline to review a book when contacted without giving a reason or after accepting a review book due to content we feel is unfit. By contacting us, you agree to this disclaimer. }}

  1. Hi, Lyndsay. I looked a number of times to figure out how to send you an email, but it didn't really work for me. I hope this is OK.

I love your blog!! I started to follow it in preparation for the future of my 6-year-old niece's reading. (There is SUCH GARBAGE out there as one exits the childhood range!) I saw in one comment that that you're on PBS. Would you be willing to be friends on it?
(I understand if you're not.) My user name is mathnut5sister (and as you can guess, my sister's user name is mathnut5!) http://mathnut5sister.paperbackswap.com

She has all of the children's, parenting, and teacher's books. I have all of the adult books. Many of our friends are not into PBS, but give us books to swap so we have quite an eclectic bunch of books.

    Thanks!
    Marcie D.

  2. Hi Lindsey! I wasn't sure if you wanted me to recommend something here or email it to you but I hope this will work. I'm reading the Kingdom series by Chuck Black. It is filled with spiritual content and thought you might want to review it. I thought it was pretty good, though I am a big fantasy person. I'm not sure if I can recommend all of them because I have only read the first book so I'm not sure if the rest are ok. (If you want to read them) I hope you enjoy! ;)

Also I wanted to recommend some books,in order, from a series called The Shoe Series by Noel Streatfield. Ballet Shoes, Theater Shoes, Dancing Shoe and Skating Shoes.

  6. Dear Lindsey, Thanks so much for a wonderful blog! As a Christian homeschool Mom, I want to pick good reading for my daughter who is an avid reader. Not just "not damaging" reading, but beneficial reading which will give her examples of Christian living. I'm so delighted to find your very thorough reviews. Thanks so much for this wonderful work! : )

  7. Thanks so much for this blog. As the mom of a tween, I have really struggled finding appropriate books for her. She loves to read and loves God. As a mom, I want to encourage both. I was wondering if there is a place on your blog where you categorize the books according to age. You have reviewed a lot of books and it would be easier to just be able to go to the pre-teen section. Thanks.
