"The Art of Introductions" by Amanda Hamm

About this book:

“Trevor Norman is not a morning person. He’s grumpy and groggy during the early part of the day. When he meets what could be the woman of his dreams in this state, things go poorly. Trying to improve her opinion of him only makes the situation worse. And worse.
Alison Brachy doesn’t know what to make of the guy who keeps wandering into her shop. He says all the wrong things yet seems desperate to do better. She’s intrigued and wants to know more about him and his story. When Trevor gives up, people around them conspire to give them both another chance.”

Series: Book #1 in the “Romantic Arts”.

My personal Rating-

I enjoy the match-making trope and while this one was very obvious, it was still fun to read about. The noticeable thing though about this story was how awkward it was. This boy had a pattern: Open mouth. Insert foot. He’s awkward. He’s just awkward and clumsy. But yet, she’s very curious about him. I wasn’t a big fan at the beginning but I ended up liking that by the end of the story because it felt honest-to-goodness realistic. No insta-love or puppy love here, just good awkwardness from two people that are interested—not necessarily romantically for the first half of the book—in each other.

I did struggle with the writing style quite a bit and the card game scenes were completely lost on me, personally. There were a few parts that were a bit corny, but I also laughed out loud at a few other comments. Overall, this book wasn’t what a expected, however I still enjoyed different parts.
