Hi, I'm Lindsey. Welcome to Books for Christian Girls.
This blog started back in 2013 out of my own need as a Christian teen to find reading content that honored Philippians 4:8. Fast forward eleven years later, I’m a college graduate with a blog that has over 1,100 reviews and so many wonderful supporters all over the world. It’s incredibly exciting for me to see that the little blog I created when I was almost fourteen—which I only thought a few fellow homeschoolers would read—has been so blessed by the Lord that we’re at over a million page-views.
There isn’t too much I won’t read under the Christian umbrella of fiction. I enjoy a witty Christian novel with a touch of romance in it the most. When asked about my favorite author, please expect a blank stare as I won’t be able to name just one. Some of my favorite authors (in alphabetical order) include: Krista McGee, Erynn Mangum, Janice Hanna Thompson, and Carrie Turansky.
I’ve enjoyed photography since before I discovered blogging. I use those skills on my Bookstagram for this blog. I started a BookTube Channel back in January of 2017. It’s been so fun to really connect with the readers of BFCG and let them get to know me and my personality.
This blog, photography, and advocating
adoptions are my three passions. It’s hard to get me to be quiet about any of those
topics once I’ve started talking about them. Just to let you know, I’m really
glad you’re here. It says to me that you’re looking for books that share your
values and beliefs, and I’m thrilled to be a part of your search. I promise to
give honest reviews, no matter what, with Philippians 4:8 in mind always promoting
the best of Christian books to you.
I am so glad someone started to do this!! I am always searching and never finding good christian books! I love to read but my materials to read are getting slim! Thanks for doing helping me out :) -Book Lover
ReplyDeleteHi Lindsey! So happy to have found your blog! I love it and I'm totally following!
ReplyDeleteHi, Lindsey. I'm Esther . . . 16 y/o homeschooler, book lover, and an obsessive fiction writer. :) I saw your American Girl post on the Avid Readers of Christian Fiction group on Facebook, and I soon found this blog through that. Let me just say that this is awesome! I love the website and the endless amounts of info on here (not to mention, it's nice finding a teenager girl with the exact same reading tastes)! I work for a review website (Clash Entertainment), writing Christian teen reviews. Recently, I've felt called to start a similar website for children. I just remember being a little kid with not many reading options, so I want to promote Christian fiction to other kids. Finding your website was a big encouragement into helping me get started. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you ever so much! I wish you the very best with both your websites! Thank you again so much for commenting!

I just saw your poston FB about your blog and I have to say, though I'm over the target age your appealing too, I am impressed with this blog already! I have friends and know a lot of girls (and I'm sure their parents) in this age range that would love this.
ReplyDeleteI never got to read the Christy Miller books but I loved reading the Left Behind Kids (still not finished) when I was growing up!
God bless and I can't wait to take a longer browse around!
What a beautiful site you have, Lindsey :) I write YA Christian suspense for Prism Book Group, and would love to submit my books to you for review. Can you tell me how to do that, please?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much,
Anna Marie Kittrell

Thank you :) I will email you today after work.
DeleteHi Lindsey! This blog is great; it's so annoying to start reading a Christian book expecting it to be clean, but then it gets too heavy on the romance or whatever. I appreciate your detailed descriptions of all that!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if you accept Christian fantasy. If you do, I'd like to submit one of my books to you!
Hello!
DeleteThank you so much for your sweet words! Please e-mail me at booksforchristiangirls (at) yahoo (dot) com with more info on your book and we can talk more about it! :)

Hi there!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Halee, and I am a representative for Crown of Beauty Magazine. I was surfing the net for beautiful, encouraging, uplifting blogs, and I’m so happy that I found yours! It’s seriously amazing, I love it. <3 Keep up the amazing work!
The reason that I wanted to send you a message, is because our magazine would love to partner with you. Our founder, Livy, just released a brand new book called Secrets of Royalty, which is all about discovering your royal identity in Christ. It seems like something your readers would really resonate with. We’ve been setting up a fun little blog tour, and we’d love for your blog to get involved, if you’re interested! <3 There are several ways you can get involved;
One way would be, a guest post swap. Your lovely little blog, and Crown of Beauty could swap posts!
Another idea, is to interview our founder! She’s really passionate about reaching young women & it might be something your readers really enjoy.
Or, you could even do a little review for Secrets of Royalty. You could read some sample chapters, or the entire thing (whatever floats your boat) then post about your thoughts.
Are you interested in be a part of our little Blog Tour? If so, what sounds the most fun? We’d love for you to! <3
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Halee

Hi Lindsey. It's nice to meet you. I'm happy to find your blog. Blessings! :) katiescottagebooks.wordpress
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteMy 12 year old daughter devours books faster than myself if that is even possible. Mine are all Christian but I feel a little too mature still for her. This website just became a huge answer to prayer. I can finally get a general idea of a book that she is interested in before I actually buy it for her. I just wanted to say thank you so much for putting your time into this. There is so little info out there about young adult Christian fiction. I am thrilled that she can continue to read safe books. Thanks again!
Hello!

Hello!
ReplyDeleteI'm a 16-year-old girl who just found your blog the other day and I'm certainly glad I did! I can't believe you started this just before you were 14!! I've been looking for some books that my mom can ok and I believe most of your book reviews will be perfect! One question, have you reviewed "The DragonKeeper Chronicles" by Donita K. Paul? I read the series 3 years ago (it's still on my bookshelf) and the series is good & clean. Thanks, & great work Lindsey!
Hi there Clare!
DeleteThank you so much for your sweet words! I'm also SO glad you found this help and that it's helpful for you!
On the series you mentioned, I actually have seen them around quite often, but yet to read them! I really need to look in to them better, I guess! ;)
Have a wonderfully Blessed week!

Dear Lindsey,
DeleteFirst, I want to say how much I enjoy your blog. It has helped me find great books! I wanted to ask about your dropdown menu. I am trying to set up my own blog, but I can't figure out a good way to get a dropdown menu. I love the layout of yours and am hoping you could give me some insight on this?
Thank You
