Welcome to Day 3 of the J.E.B. Spredemann week! Today we’ll be reviewing book #2, “Danika's Journey”.

 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

About this book:

  “Danika Morales is devastated when tragedy strikes close to home. She is forced to move from her friends and beautiful home in sunny California to Amish country in rural Pennsylvania to live with her estranged uncle. This surfer girl believes she'll never be able to adjust to a land-locked Plain lifestyle until she meets her new best friend. Still, being an outsider and of a different ethnicity, Danika faces many challenges on her journey to adulthood.

Series: The 2nd book in “Amish Girls” series. (Book #1, “Joanna’s Struggle”,Here!) {I’ll be reviewing the next two this week! :) }

Spiritual Content-  Each Chapter starts with a Scripture, and many Scriptures are said & discussed; Prayers; Talks about God.

Negative Content- Minor cussing including: an unfinished “What the…?”.

Sexual Content- Eli (who is 15) wants to kiss Danika but she does not let him; At Church meeting, all the men give each other a kiss on the lips, it then is said “The Bible says to greet one another with a holy kiss and they do it literally”; Great discussions about staying pure.

-Danika Morales, age 13
                          P.O.V. switches between Danika, Eli, Naomi & Philip.                                                                              130 pages

My personal Rating-
(and a half)
I was cracking up at so many parts in this book! It was so funny! Especially when Danika comes to live with her new Amish family! She knows nothing about the Amish before that day—and was she in for a surprise!
