BFCG's 12th Birthday & Celebration! (Open Internationally!)

Twelve years.

BFCG is twelve years old.

How is that even possible? We’re officially past the point of some of our readers being younger than BFCG, which is honestly very amusing for me to think about for some reason! 😁 Whether you’re eight, eighty, or somewhere in-between, we’re so glad that you are here!

I think I comment on it every birthday, but it’s truly amazing to see how the Lord has blessed this mission and how many support the values of this website—even just within the growth of this last year. ‘Books for Christian Girls’ continues to grow and expand in ways I never imagined it would back when it started in 2013. It’s crazy to think this site now has over 1300 reviews and over 1.4 million pageviews and so many loyal readers who trust our site. Please know that honor is never lost on me nor taken for granted. Thank you to each and every single one of you for supporting BFCG and sharing it with like-minded friends! Thank you for showing that you care about the content in books and wanting to be informed! And thank you, again, for being here!

This birthday celebration includes five winners to each win a $20 Amazon Gift Card – While I would love to giveaway certain books like in years in the past, life is a little too busy for that, so we’re going to keep it low-key this year. 😉 If the winners need some recommendations on which book to buy, though, I would be more than happy to help with that! 😁

a Rafflecopter giveaway

This giveaway is open internationally (as long as Amazon delivers gift cards to your country!) and starts April 9th and ends on the 22nd at midnight CST. Please come back each day to gain a bonus daily entry as well!

Once again, I want to say thank you for supporting not only this site, but our mission and passion for finding Philippians 4:8 worthy books! I hope y’all have an absolutely wonderfully Blessed day and happy giveaway entering!

BFCG's 10th Birthday & Celebration! (Open Internationally!)

It’s been ten years.

Ten years since the start of ‘Books for Christian Girls’.

Ten years of content reviews.

It’s amazing to see how the Lord has grown this blog into a passion and a ministry for girls ages 9-19. It’s amazing to see how many girls and families care about the content in a book. That’s truly been the most encouraging thing to me over these years; to know that I’m not alone in wanting good, clean, faith-filled Christian fiction.

It’s so funny to look at our 5-year anniversary post and note where this blog was at then. I said “To be completely honest, I never even imagined doing this site for so long. I was 13, turning 14 soon, when I felt called to start this ministry, and while I didn’t think I’d be doing it for a short amount of time, I definitely didn’t image doing it this long.” Look at what the Lord has done. This blog is just shy of 1,200 reviews and getting closer to a million views everyday. That’s unbelievable and it’s thanks to His blessings and y’all’s support. Thank you!

Thank you to those who appreciate these reviews.

Thank you to those who support this site by sharing with others.

Thank you to those who have Philippians 4:8 values.

Thank you for being here.

With this being a big birthday, I wanted us to celebrate in a bigger way. Here’s the details: There will be 10 winners (8 on this site and 1 each on Instagram and Facebook. Check out our Instagram post and Facebook Page for the info on those giveaways!) You are welcome to enter all three ways to win!

For this giveaway, I wanted to give some options of books we’ve loved for a long time and also some more recent favorites in hopes that there maybe a few that interest everyone. I wanted to share some BFCG favorites for all ages with these book options! Reviews are linked and make some notes on which ones interest you because that will be important! ;)

This giveaway is open internationally as long as Book Depository or Amazon delivers to your country! :) (Book Depository actually closes on 4/26, but all orders will be available until 6/23, so we should be covered!)

BFCG's 5th Birthday & Celebration

I’m writing this post in absolute awe of what the Lord has done with this site.

With nearly 750 reviews, 300,000 pageviews, and thousands of followers, Books for Christian Girls is celebrating its five-year anniversary.

To be completely honest, I never even imagined doing this site for so long. I was 13, turning 14 soon, when I felt called to start this ministry, and while I didn’t think I’d be doing it for a short amount of time, I definitely didn’t image doing it this long.

Five years ago, tomorrow, the first review was posted.
That’s some pretty mind-blowing stuff right there.

To those reading this,
To those who have followed BFCG since day two, today, or anywhere in between,
To those who follow our Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and all the other social media sites,
To those who share about this site,
To those who have the same Philippians 4:8 values that BFCG promotes,

THANK YOU

Your support of Books for Christian Girls and it’s ministry for five years now, the supportive community that surrounds us, is an absolutely amazing thing that I don’t take for granted.

Interview with Sandra Orchard & Celebration!

In honor of Over Maya Dead Body’s release—TODAY!—I’m sharing a special interview with the author and a chance for y’all to win a copy of the first book! :)
Y’all have seen me fangirl often over this author and her wonderful mystery/suspense books on all of our social medias, but I’m so excited to be sharing this interview with Miss Sandra Orchard. (And have a giveaway at the end. ;) )

BFCG: Hi Miss Sandra! We’re so happy to have you on ‘Books for Christian Girls’ today! Thank you so much for letting us interview you! Let’s start this off by asking if you could please tell us about Serena and what she does in your own words.

SO: Serena is driven to solve crimes involving art and antiquities, in the secret hope that one day she might bring to justice the art thief who took her grandfather’s life. Thankfully she’s also surrounded by devoted parents, a quirky aunt, a handsome apartment superintendent and an equally handsome colleague who want her to have a life too.

BFCG: I’ve loved reading about Serena, her family, & her job! It’s been so fascinating and just adds to my FBI/Criminal Justice lovin’ heart! If you worked for the FBI, what division do you think you would be a part of?

SO: Hmm…the training division sounds as if it’d be fun. Although I’d probably be best suited to the finance division, since I majored in math at university.

BFCG: Can you please tell us a little about yourself?

SO: When not plotting crimes, I love to play with my adorable little grandchildren or enjoy hiking or kayaking with my hubby or renovating our century-old farmhouse, aka the money pit. Once upon a time, I taught high school math, homeschooled my three brilliant children (I could be biased on the brilliant part) and I still do bookkeeping—the mathematical kind. ;) I also love to speak at events, teach writing workshops, and do all kinds of crafts.

BFCG: After writing a fantastic series featuring poisons, Port Aster Secrets, what made you decide to write a series around an FBI agent?

SO: Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the Port Aster series. I’d done a lot of research on art crime for my Love Inspired Suspense novel, Perilous Waters, and was brimming with more story ideas that I thought would dovetail nicely with a heroine trying to find her way in the world of work, family and relationships. Thankfully my editor agreed. :)

BFCG: I’ve now read 12 out of 13 of your books, I believe, and have enjoyed every single one. How many books have you written total?

SO: 3 1/2 more than have been published and/or contracted. <wink> Over Maya Dead Body is lucky number 13—my sixth mystery with Revell. I also have 7 romantic suspense with Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense Christian imprint, and I’m currently working on 3 cozy mysteries for Annie’s Attic.

BFCG: This blog is based on the verse Philippians 4:8 {“…whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”}. Is there a part of that Scripture that stands out to you?

SO: As it pertains to Serena, “whatever is honorable and whatever is right” are guiding principles in her life and work.

Wasn’t that such a neat interview? I always love hearing about how different authors think and write. :) Thank you again to Miss Sandra for allowing BFCG to interview you!
