"Sketchy Tacos" by Meg D. Gonzalez

About this book:

“Mila’s summer in Mexico is going to be perfect. She has a plan. If only life would stick to it.
After facing everything from a flash flood to Moctezuma’s revenge, from a romantic date for two to a gaggle of snide girls, teenage artist Mila Gulick finds the biggest challenge comes from the war within herself. Her heart, her art, and even her safety are at risk as she struggles to find a balance between cultural differences, old assumptions, and strange romance. My personal Rating-
This felt like a quick read, but I mostly enjoy it. Like most books I read that have a love-triangle, I could have done without those parts. I think Christian was the major down-fall of this book, and I’m pretty sure I would have gave this YA book four stars if he and his forced kisses weren’t in it.
I really liked the ending with the healing moments. While reading, I felt for Mila! She wanted her mom’s approval and love, but believes since she’s not perfect so she won’t have it. I really enjoyed all the prayers, witnessing and Mila’s journey she had to take during this story. I am interesting in seeing what the second book will be about.

See y’all on Friday with a new review!
