"Oath of Honor" by Lynette Eason

About this book:

  A murdered partner. A missing brother. Will Isabelle's silence protect those she loves . . . or delay justice?
  Police officer Isabelle St. John loves her crazy, loud, law-enforcement family. She knows they'll be there for her when things get tough. Like when her partner is murdered and she barely escapes with her own life.
  Izzy is determined to discover exactly what happened, and her investigation sends her headfirst into a criminal organization, possibly with cops on the payroll--including someone from her own family. With her dead partner's brother Ryan, a handsome homicide detective, shadowing her every move, Izzy's head is spinning. How can she secure justice for her partner when doing so could mean sending someone she loves to prison? And how will she guard her heart when the man she's had a secret crush on for years won't leave her side?”

My personal Rating-
{Add ½ star for older girls interested in law enforcement}
As soon as I opened this novel, I could already feel the adrenaline coming from the pages.
I loved that in the opening chapter of this book we’re introduced to all six of the St. John siblings and their people-saving careers. I am so here for strong family relationships in fiction books. After “meeting” her parents, I can totally see were Izzy gets her toughness from. She’s a tough girl who’s been through a lot (and goes through even more during these 340 pages) and I loved her character and reactions.
When reading the back-cover, I was hoping that maybe (just maybe) we wouldn’t meet Izzy’s partner, Kevin, because I didn’t want to end up liking him and then he’s dead. But, atlast. We meet him, fall in love with his character, and then our hearts hurt.
For the romance aspects of this plot, it was decently light compared to everything that’s happening. There were a few random kisses in the weirdest spots of the plot, in my opinion, though.
Overall, I was very happy with the family aspects between both the St. John’s and the Marshall’s, and while this plot isn’t for everyone (I happen to enjoy suspense books, however) and I do wish there was more faith content, I did enjoy this one.
I was looking forward to reading Chloe and Hank’s story next, but I am slightly concerned from the teaser about human trafficking mentions; that’s never been a topic I read about well. So, we’ll see as the release date gets closer and more info is released about the plot.

See y’all on Wednesday with a new review!
