"Jennie's War" by Bonnie Hinman

About this book:

“Jennie Fleming is helping the war effort.
The Seattle ten-year-old is using a hoe to win World War 2—she’s growing vegetables in a “Victory Garden” on the vacant lot she and her brother once used as a baseball field. But serving a larger cause sometimes demands sacrifice, and Jennie’s willing to do whatever it takes to see the war ended.
Soon, though, Jennie’s war efforts take on a darker hue when she suspects a new man in her neighborhood may be a spy. What can such a young girl do?”

My personal Rating-

The second to last book in the “Sisters in Time” series is set during World War II and features a brother and sister who argue and compete quite often. While their arguments may get on some readers nerves, it does end with a happier note with their words towards each other. :)

"Finding Cabin Six" by Missy & Mia Robertson

About this book:

“It’s summertime—and when you’re a Carroway, that means heading to camp for an exciting week of fun, friends, and faith-building. But this summer will be different—rumor has it that the camp is struggling and may be sold to a resort developer at the end of the season. Cousins Allie, Kendall, Lola, Ruby, and Hunter are devastated by the news, so they set out on a mission to save the camp!
It’s a job that will take some strong prayer, a clever plan, and a little sleuthing, made difficult by the constant presence of Allie’s new “friend,” Madison Doonsberry, and California surfer-boy Nathan Fremont. But when they uncover information about a similar camp struggle in the past and discover clues that lead them to the true story behind the disappearance of legendary girls’ cabin six, the cousins realize that they’re right in the middle of God’s plan to grow them closer together and teach them the value of lost people.
This fourth book in the Faithgirlz Princess in Camo series is the perfect addition to this unique storyline about a fun and faith-filled family in a world of class and camouflage.”

My personal Rating-
Now, I’m not a camper (at all), but I did really enjoy the last book in the “Princess in Camo” series. The mysteries were exciting and it finished off the series very well.
This series was much better than I expected, and I particularly enjoyed the third book and this last one. This final book’s ending was great, but I also loved all the faith content in it.
The first book was a little “out there” (or just not believable), so if that one turned you off, I would recommend trying out the next book. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this series and I’m glad my library had them.
