"Rendezvous" by Melody Carlson

About this book:

  “Lost in translation?
  Having learned some hard lessons about the costs of fame, sisters Paige and Erin Forrester feel ready to take their fashion-focused TV show on location to Paris. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for many of their good intentions to get lost in translation. An unplanned week of filming at runway model Eliza Wilton’s family estate leads to romance, jealousy, and surprises. With cameras rolling, both girls have to be careful, or the future of On the Runway could end up as wobbly as Paige’s stiletto heels.”

{Add ½ star for those interested in teen drama.}
{Add ½ star for those interested in fashion and designer names.}
Like the previous book in this series, “Rendezvous” had quite a bit of faith content. As for the teen drama parts, it felt like there were less in those regards. Still cleaner than other YA books by this author, I personally have days when I want to read a “fluffier” story and this one fit the bill. (I mean that in a good way. ;)) Those highly interested in fashion and designers would probably enjoy this series the most, however. :)

"The Photograph" by Beverly Lewis

About this book:

  “Eva Esch and her sisters are in a predicament. With the passing of their widowed mother, Eva's older brother Menno plans to move his growing family into the Eden Valley farmhouse where they all grew up, leaving little room for his three single sisters. Surely, Menno reasons, at least one of them will marry this coming wedding season. Eva does hope to marry, but she isn't sure she wants to give up her sweet shop for the life of a farmer's wife, and she has no other prospects.
  When younger sister, Lily, disappears in the night, leaving only a brief note, Eva fears she has been wooed away from the People by an outsider. And when Jed Stutzman, a young Amish buggy maker from Ohio, shows up in Lancaster with a photo of a Plain young woman, Eva's world begins to tilt. She feels powerfully drawn to the quietly charming stranger--but the woman in the forbidden photograph is no stranger at all. . . .”

My personal Rating-
I feel like I haven’t read a Beverly Lewis book in forever!
This one was a bit different from most Amish books I’ve read since it was set in the 1980s. Being Amish (no technology), it didn’t feel like it, so I did keep forgetting that it was set nearly forty years ago! Felt dragged out at some points, and I would have liked the ending to be a bit longer (or more towards the end of the middle section of this book), but it was a nice, laid-back read. Lots of faith content and very clean, just what I expect from this author. :)

"Liza of Green Gables" by Renee Riva

About this book:

  “When Liza Braun tries out for the Rainier Theater Production of Anne of Green Gables, she has no idea that the assistant director is going to do everything she can to make sure her daughter, Charlotte, is the star of the show. But when Liza wins the lead role, the play is suddenly revised so the character of Diana Berry upstages Anne Shirley in every scene---until Dillon Derry gets the part of Gilbert Blithe and decides two people can play that game.
  Knowing the kind of pranks Dillon was capable of, Liza could only imagine what he had in store for OPENING NIGHT.

Starting soon after “Happy Camper” left off, “Liza of Green Gables” picks up in Liza’s point of view. Trying to audition for the part of Anne in a play, Liza also has to deal with her trouble-making next-door neighbor boy. Overall, it was a cute read!
