"The Talking Snowman" by Lois Gladys Leppard

About this book:

  “Winter has arrived in Charley Gap! There's so much snow that Mandie and Joe make a huge snowman in Mandie's front yard. One night, after her family is asleep, Mandie hears someone talking outside her bedroom window. No one is there except the snowman. And he can't talk . . . or can he? The answer is a surprise to everyone -- including Mandie! -- in this spirited mystery with a heartwarming solution.”

Series: Book #4 in “Young Mandie Mysteries” series. (Book #1’s review Here!, #2 Here!, and #3 Here!) {This series is connected to the original Mandie series, Mandie is younger in this series but this series was written later. Also is a bit confusing for those who have read the Mandie series first. See my review of Book 1 for my thoughts on this.}

Spiritual Content- A couple mentions of church service & a preacher; A mention of God; A mention of praying.

Negative Content- Minor cussing including: a ‘dumb’, and a ‘shucks’; Mandie sneaks out of the house at night when she hears someone talking (Joe tells her that that was a dangerous thing and wants to tell her father, but she tells him not to tattle because it’s her business; they both later sneak out and her father tells her they should never run off without someone knowing where they are); Shooting a bear (barely-above-not-detailed); A few mentions of stealing & a thief; A couple mentions of an outlaw & robbers; A mention of a fire; A mention of possibly being kidnapped; A mention of hunting.

Sexual Content- N/A.

My personal Rating-
{The ratings are lower as the girl gets older because of the simple plot-line, but is clean for all ages.}
I think I’ve mentioned in every review of the “Young Mandie Mysteries” series, that I really prefer the original series (and that this younger version doesn’t connect well at all), but other than some details being inaccurate from the main series, it’s still a cute series.

See y’all on Friday with a new review!

*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author.
