"Who Mandie?" by Lois Gladys Leppard {Pre-Teen Week!}

{Welcome to Pre-Teen Week! Every quarter we’re going to try to do a full week dedicated to finding great Christian books for girls ages 8/9-12 every week day! This is Day Two of this quarters’!} {Day One Here!}

About this book:

  “Nine-year-old Mandie Shaw knows that cats don't just appear out of nowhere, especially in the woods near her family's log cabin. But when Mandie and her good friend Joe hear a soft meow on their way home from school, they soon discover that's exactly what has happened. Who would leave a cat alone in the woods? And will finding the answer mean Mandie will have to give up the first pet she's ever had?”

Series: Book #1 in “Young Mandie Mysteries” series. {This is connected to the original Mandie series, Mandie is younger in this series but this series was written later. Also is a bit confusing for those who have read the Mandie series first.}

Spiritual Content- N/A

Negative Content- Minor cussing including: a ‘dumb’; The Shaw’s horse is named “Dangit”; a dead rat (barely-above-not-detailed).

My personal Rating-

I read the original Mandie series way before I started this blog and I loved them! (I’ll start reviewing those soon!) But, compared to that series, this series (Young Mandie Mysteries) there was some things that didn’t add up...like Mandie’s stepmother (In the first Mandie book, she’s the typical evil stepmother but with this book she’s...wonderful...? Still scratching my head on that.) When you don’t compare the two, this was a good, cute mystery that sadly didn’t have any Spiritual Content.

See y’all Tomorrow with another Pre-Teen Week review!

*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author.
