 Series: Book #2 in the “Peacemakers”. (I have not read book 1, “All God’s Children”.)

Spiritual Content- Deuteronomy 4:9 in the first part & Isaiah 43:10 at the second; Anja is a Quaker and has a very strong Faith; Mikel thinks she’s crazy for believing in God in the world they live in; Peter grew up in Church but never really went deeper but admires Anja for her Faith and starts praying.

Negative Content- Guns are shot (no one is killed because of them); people are slapped by Nazi soldiers.

Sexual Content- Anja walks into a brothel (for shelter), thinking that the women were “doing what they thought was necessary to survive”, and says (in her mind) that her heart breaks at what those women have to do; *Spoiler* Once Peter & Anja are married and though Anja’s tired, she still wants to “consummate” the marriage (according to Peter the next day they did nothing); Peter studies her shoulder. *Spoiler*

Personally, I think this book would be better for Mid High Schoolers (16+) and up just because of the War parts and the little bit of sexual content. Can’t wait for the next book in the series! (Oh, and to read the first book in the series. ;) )
