{Merry CHRISTmas everyone! Every
Monday, Wednesday & Friday in honor of our Savior’s birth there’ll be a new
Christmas book review! With a couple giveaways sprinkled in, it’s going to be
so much fun! Let’s start!}
About this book:
“My Yuletide Resolution: Stop Living a Lie With Christmas coming, I, Carly Winston, know it's time to make changes in my life. I've spent way too much time hiding my family's past--and letting opportunities pass me by. Not even my boyfriend, Randy, or my friends in The Sisterhood of the Dropped Stitches know about my secret shame. I'm hoping my new role as Mary in the local nativity play will build my confidence and help me to open up to those I care about. My evolving relationship with Randy--and my future--are riding on my ability to share my heart.”
Series: This book is part of the Love Inspired mini-series “Dropped Stitches”. It is book #2 of four. (I haven’t read the other ones.)

Spiritual Content- Luke 1:37 and Matthew 1:23 are both written at the beginning of the book; ‘H’s are capital when talking about God; Carly’s believes to take things slow and says “God been around forever so He can wait a bit.”; She’s not really a Christ follower but auditions for a part in a Nativity play(set in the Great Depression), landing the role of Mary’s understudy; Thus, leads Carly to Christ and learning (and wondering) a lot about Mary and her role in the Very Important Event; Carly’s friend Marilee is semi-new Christian and Carly sees her Pray; Mid-way through the book, Carly starts reading the New Testament and starts thinking that it might be real; Church going.
Negative Content- Carly’s dad was an alcoholic & in and out of rehab.
*Note: Carly and the Sisterhood
all met when they all were going through Cancer & chemo, just a warning for
those sensitive to the topic.
Sexual Content- Eleven not-detailed
kisses and a semi-detailed kiss; Boyfriends & Crushes; When Carly was just
getting sick, her mother told people that in was in the hospital because she
got mono from kissing a guy; Randy offers Carly an apartment which makes the
Sisterhood think that he’s living there too (which he isn’t), quote “And Randy either wants to be my knight in
shining amour and rescue me or he is expecting something of a physical nature
in return for a place to stay and he’s the last person I should trust. I wish I
knew for sure what his motive is.”; There are, of course, mentions of Mary
the The Virgin Birth; Love, falling in love & the emotions.

My
personal Rating-
{ Lowered
ratings because of all the kisses. }
These ratings are for girls who like
those Christmas Hallmark movies, or maybe the Inspirational channel? I don’t
know, something like that. ;) I prefer predicable books over predicable movies,
so my rating is lower. But, then, all the ratings are lowered because of the
Boyfriend thing.
See y’all on Monday with a new
CHRISTmas review and winner of the giveaway!
*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author.
I would love to read this book! I would definitely hold onto it for my grand daughter when she is older.
